When you are painting furniture you want a high quality paint. Especially if you are painting an antique from your grandmother. Higher quality paints are going to adhere well to the surface and give your painted furniture project a lasting finish.
My Best Furniture Paint list only has paint lines that I have personally used for clients and have had no problems with them peeling or flaking latter down the road.

Top 4 Best paints for Furniture
Annie Sloan – Very good quality paint. It is chalk paint and will adhere well to any surface
Jolie – Also a very good quality paint, will adhere well to surfaces, is a newer company and has eco-friendly waxes
Dixie belle – Probably one of the best color selections for a furniture paint line. There paint also adheres well to surfaces.
General Finishes – They make chalky finish paints, milk paints, gel stains, top coats. All of their paints give fantastic results.
All 4 of these paint lines are great for the beginner furniture painter. They are not too runny and carry a good consistency. The four of these paints are also easily brushed onto most any surface. All four I have used many times with great results each time. 🙂
