Did you know that painting a dresser is actually way easier than painting a chair? YES! I tell you YES! I think as a busy mom the thought of “painting a dresser” sounds intimidating. Like, it’s this large piece of furniture that will take you at least a full day to paint. And if your husband is working all day or maybe you are working all day and have to pickup kids from school and late night sports practices….you think that painting a dresser in your bedroom is an impossible task. But it’s not!
Why painting a Dresser is easy for a Busy Mom
Dressers are generally are a flat surface to paint. Not a lot of curves, nooks and crannies to get around with your paint brush. They also sit off the ground so you do not have to turn them upside down and all around to paint. And if you’re a busy mom let’s do this the most Efficent way possible. LEAVE the drawers in the dresser while painting. Taking each drawer out would mean you need to number each one and then number each empty slot the same number. It’s a lot of time and if this is a piece of furniture you are painting for your own home it’s not necessary. And will save you lots of time because you are a busy mom!

For Sealing your painted dresser I recommend a water based polyuerathane. The paints listed above are all water based. You want to make sure your polyuerthane is also water based. General Finishes is my favorite poly to seal water based paints. If you are wanting an eco friendly sealer go with Jolie Clear Wax. 🙂
